Back in the swing...

29/8/12 Wednesday. Did the smart thing yesterday and did not succumb to temptation and withdrawal symptoms and go out swing a club after the Bowen Treatment. It did help keep me indoors with the rain falling throughout the afternoon, as I am certain that going to practise some putting and chipping would have led to hitting some long irons.

This morning though I grabbed twenty balls together with the six iron and pitching wedge then went out on the practise fairway. Nice and easy swings after some stretching exercises to warm up were very satisfying. No twinges and good distance and accuracy was the result and that was exactly what was wanted. Back home afterwards a little tenderness was apparent in the recovering area but nothing foreboding about this.

My golf game will fall back into the recent rhythm easily enough. No big hitting in my golf, just a steady plod of hit the ball straight and accurately, as is possible. The coming weeks will be fun and this week I will enjoy the mental exercise of preparing my game brain for match play. The opponents do not count in my planning very much, that is a distraction to actual play of winning golf. Awareness of them during the round is a must, ignoring the signs of faltering is also an effective way to lose a game of golf.

Two days of Weight loss program to go...

29/8/12 Wednesday. Into the last week of the 2 month weight loss effort taking the diet supplement and I am recovering from a debilitating bout of back pain that often coincides with weight gain. As usual there has been no exercise in this period which began on Friday, literally bed ridden on Saturday and Sunday. Up and out of bed moving gingerly by Monday afternoon, taking care not to jar of strain the injured area.
Rest is always a good healing agent and by Tuesday the injury had receded into a relatively minor disability. Managed to book a Bowen Therapy treatment on the same day and that was to speed up the healing and correct the cause of the injury flare up. Would have forgone this for a few days in normal circumstances yet with the first matchplay round of the club golf championships on Sunday it is vital to improve as soon as possible.
The crunch of all is has my weight blown out in this injury recovery period? In this case no, in fact the opposite; down to 101.2kgfrom Saturday’s 102.3kg

Visually my body has obviously lost a few of the rolls and bulges from the initial 109kg when I began the weight loss attempt taking the diet supplements.

With only two days of supplement capsules left I am very happy with the result since beginning in July. To have lost, at worst 7kg in eight weeks, up to 8kg possible in the last few days is a definite success.
Without doubt my sceptical opinion has been changed to one that says this works. During this weight loss period there have been times when there has been gains between some weekly weigh ins. The point is that this is not an instant quick fix and what you eat and moderate exercise has to be considered. The fact is that the loss of 7 kilograms in eight weeks is the minimum result I have achieved. You must follow some simple rules and not eat fast foods, biscuits, cakes, cream pastries, chocolate bars and other confectionery from the sweets and lollies section in shops.
I will do a final weigh in on Saturday morning. Then continue this written record for a couple of weeks to see if the weight comes back now that the supplements are not part of my dietary routine.

Thankyou for your time and attention, Geoff

Championships draw released...

28/8/12 Tuesday. Managed to get a Bowen treatment this morning and that has released the restriction on my body. Was healing up slowly but getting a treatment was vital to have me in better condition for the first round of matchplay for the club championships on Sunday.

Got to the clubhouse and have seen the draw, it is the same opponents as last season for the first two, with the current club champion my opponent if I win the first round. Then it will be some one new to play off against if I win through to the final 36 hole round.

Playing matchplay is always a challenge and my short game will be getting some dedicated practise. Chipping in and dropping the first putt is a major bonus in this knock-out competition. Weather has gone to crap again with more rain today settling in to soak the course. Fortunate that the new place I am moving to has a shed and will be there tomorrow setting up my driving net inside to get some range practise in the armoury.

It is great to have finally got to this part of the season and in better condition physically than last season. Starting to have a few body parts waver as in last weekend but that hurdle has been leapt now it should be relatively plain sailing to the eventual outcome.   Thankyou for your time and attention, “Hit ‘em straight all”

A little common sense goes a long way...

26/8/12 Sunday. More mobility and less pain this morning was able to get up at 5am and move well enough through the various newspaper delivery tasks. It has been a while since having a really bad flare up on this scale. It is now when my positive attitude can cause problems. It has always been a matter of "what can I do" when feeling like this instead of thinking "what is not possible."

This has caused problems in the past as pain is a great creator of irrational decisions. This morning I am holding off until 10am before heading out to hit 20 balls and see how my body reacts. Even on writing it common sense suggests not even bothering to do this and sit the day out and recover a little more. It is that I have worked so damn hard to be in a position to win the Gallerie Trophy and sitting in second spot and only needing to be two strokes better than the leader for victory. I don't need to win this trophy, I just don't like not being able to compete and have an influence on the result.

Yes dear readers I am an obsessed golfer who does enjoy the competition of the game. Thankyou for your time and attention, “Hit ‘em straight all”

A slow day of recovery...

25/8/12 Saturday. So far the day has been bad since levering out of bed at 4.30am to get into work.
On a scale of one to ten the pain and discomfort level is an eleven today. It has been a long time since I have been this crippled with pain and inability to move. Although mobility and pain has lessened in the last three and half hours, common sense dictates no golf this weekend unless there is major improvement.

At least I am not being paralysed in place now as I was on first rising today. A combination of a Deep Heat back patch and pain medication, combined with driving around for an hour and a half with a heated seat in a Smart car delivering newspapers has relieved some discomfort. Teed off yesterday and played two holes of the Friday chicken run before pulling out which was a smart decision. I had been restricted in mobility and taking it very cautious all day in reaction to the first inkling of pain in the morning.

Having already qualified for the club championships and at this stage sitting second there is no urgency to play on Sunday. It is the frustration at wanting to get out and have a crack at winning the Gallerie Trophy that will be curtailed at this stage which has me so irritated. It is also a Monthly Medal round on Sunday as well which would be nice to have a crack at. My current sensible plan is to not play Kingston SE today, still have to go for a drive there though as part of assisting with the Southern Ports Golf Week development.

Will go up and back returning to spend the day relaxing and hopefully recuperating at home. If I feel recovered in the afternoon a little fitness test  with some putting and chipping will give me a benchmark on the improvement. Not expecting anything like this to happen at the minute though. Can barely lean forward on the chair to shift position so stiff and at least it is not as painful even since starting to write there has been improvement. Thankyou for your time and attention, “Hit ‘em straight all”

Injury and bad weather slows progress...

25/8/12 Saturday. Into the eighth week of taking the diet supplement and have decided to continue for another month (4 week) program. The reason is very modest and simple. To get below 100kg to 99kg and have lost a total of 10 kilograms by taking the supplements.
This past week was a minor weight gain of .20 kg and a total 102.3kg on the scales this morning.

Since Tuesday of the past week I have not got outside for a daily walk of 3 kilometres because of bad weather and visitors. As well this involved two particularly large meals Roast Chicken and vegetables and sharing two bottles of wine Wednesday and two pints of Guinness with a meal of Fettuccine in a creme sauce on Thursday.

To compound the lack of exercise I have been crippled with a very bad flare up of my back injury since Friday morning. Started to play nine holes of golf Friday afternoon and had to stop after playing two. This morning am only slightly better having been up since 5am delivering newspapers under duress. I am quite certain that playing golf and getting exercise this weekend is not going to happen.

Having got below 102 kg after golfing last weekend reaching the first goal of 100kg is also behind schedule now with the disabling of my exercise activities. It is only the competitive motivation and the enjoyment of having already lost a considerable amount of weight seven kilograms, already that has me chasing the targets set.

I feel much more healthy and satisfied with the successful experience with the diet supplements so far. Whilst I have not followed a strict dieting menu there has been no eating of rubbish snacks. Fresh Apples, vegetables cheese, meats, coffee and moderate alcohol, bread consumption were the mainstay of the diet. No chips, chocolates, soft drinks, sugar, gravy in addition to the consumption of nutritional meals.

One week of diet supplement to go...

Diet Supplements available here make an offer... http://www.quicksales.com.au/buy/auction.aspx?itemid=15243678

22/8/12 Another week of being restricted in getting outside due to the weather. One of the important aspects of the weight loss effectiveness from taking the diet supplements has been exercise. Nothing extraordinary or excessive as far as exercise routines go based around playing golf it has been a matter of walking 6km (playing 18 holes) twice a week and 3km (playing 9 holes) 2-3 times a week. Even if you are not a golfer making the effort to walk 18 to 21 kilometres a week in addition to your usual activities is not a lot.

Yet it makes all the difference when it comes to losing weight. During each week the practise is not to get on the scales and check your weight. This is not an effective action as your weight does fluctuate day to day the only total that matters is the weekly result which gives the loss or gained tally.

This week though after having already taken seven kilograms of weight off my body I have been breaking this rule for a purpose. Being unable to exercise due to the weather and with the very loose diet when it comes to what I eat I was interested to see what the effect would be. Starting on Sunday I have weighed myself each morning on rising and have fluctuated between 101.6kg and 102.1kg in that time.

Having lost so much excess body fat in the past two months obviously there is less to lose in the future. Having not followed a strict dietary regime and instead putting the diet supplement claims to the test has worked in favour of the supplement. Sitting about doing no exercise though would not have been as effective in the weight loss result. The success has all came from moderation and that covers the gamut of eating and exercising while taking the diet supplements.

With a nine days to go, the end of the second month of taking the diet supplements has arrived. It will be grand to hit the 100kg mark but even 101kg would be more than acceptable. Yes the diet supplements are a definite success in assisting with weight loss. As long as the person taking them is not lazy and make the effort to improve them self and not just expect weight loss to happen magically.

The club championship preparation...

22/8/12 Wednesday. Pacing myself this week in the build up to the weekend golfing, maintaining the practise and playing routine that has been established through the season so far. It is very satisfying to know that the past twelve months has been effective in improving on the previous season. While still not the best golfer in the field of championship competitors, my preparation has put me into a position to be able to challenge the best.

It was a big test and perhaps to some an overstepping of the reality of what was possible in attempting some of the goals I have tried for during 2012. That was never a consideration in my mind with the entry into Southern Ports Golf Week and the various regional Club Open tournaments. Not winning was not failure. The transition into A Grade at the high end of that handicap division was never going to be an easy one. I did not have the consistent golf game to be successful on the travelling golf competition circuit this past season. I did have several ‘one hit wonder’ winning shots for long drives and nearest the pins in various open competitions. So I was not ineffectual in playing among the better class of golfers.

The coming weeks of rising to the challenge are exciting to contemplate. In the field I will be a decade or more years older than the favourites and golf wise less powerful off the tee and fairway. So the past season of dedicated practise, obtaining equipment that has improved my accuracy and distance and much improved fitness and body condition is my compensation. In past months the weekly competition results have delivered the proof that there are three A grade golfers who are in consistent winning form, I am one of those. Playing seven competition rounds at my home club since the twenty seventh of May have resulted in three first place and two third place results and only twice have I been headed by another A grade golfer.

This week the Driver has been left out of the bag during practise. Choosing to play only with #3 hybrid to PW during nine hole rounds and on the range. This is to assist in improving the GIR rate with the longer clubs. Range practise is good for establishing consistent shot play. Doing it on the course is where it matters, hence the increased use of the longer clubs in practise rounds by taking the driver out of the bag. There is another purpose in this round play as well. Our club championship is decided by match play after qualifying rounds. Creating extra pressure on myself during practise with tee shots that are twenty metres or more shorter, is about getting accustomed to having to get the best result with all shots. Nine days of weight loss to go...

Close run finish..qualified for championships

20/8/12 Monday. The first qualifying round had to be played on a composite course yesterday. The front nine had too much water laying on some holes not to ignore that the ground was muddy and plugged balls would have been easily lost. A stroke round and championship value it would have been unfair on the possible scores. Hence the decision was made to play the back nine twice as this is up in the sand dunes and not as much effect on the holes by the flooding.

I was in a good mind set and the score was a messy 83 for a nett 70 a par for the back nine as this is 35 gross series of holes. Apart from an out of bounds on the ninth hole two missed putts and one duffed chip shot the rest of the round was played out well enough to my expectations. In the days competition I tied in fourth place. Behind the winner with a nett 66, second place 67 and third a 69 nett there was no regrets in the score, improving on the previous days effort at Kingston was achieved again. I do have a benchmark expectation with the two competitive round weekends I have been playing to prepare for the club championships. Eventually I want to be playing the my handicap or better at both club rounds each day. Improving on the moderately effective first rounds followed by the winning or par at least efforts the next day.

It was also the second round of the Gallerie Trophy and I have now moved to second place over all in this annual club competition won from the best two of three rounds played. Leaders Score is; 78/67=145, mine in 2nd 77/70=147, 3rd 80/69=149 & 4th 81/71=151. This is a little in my mental favour as this is Trophy I would like to win and will be coming out to chase the victory next weekend. My preparation for the championships is more than just playing two competition rounds a weekend in the build up for form. The whole point of playing in genuine club competition is to doing the effort to win in match conditions. The next five weeks of competition are all going to be played to break my handicap standards. That is the only way winning is going to be possible.

The current club champion has just drifted out to an eight handicap I am fluctuating between 11 to 13 of late. Yesterday by good fortune I was again drawn to play in his group and got to compare our game standards in a review this morning. In the same foursome I kept my partners card and noted the champions scores as well on each hole. My front nine of 44 compared to the champions 40. Followed with a 39 alongside his 38 for the back nine. We both had the same number of putts and the major difference was in GIR, I am a marginally better putter with five one putts to his three. Also my driver is 20-40 metres less off the tee and that is a major difference on the par four holes. The game was not a matchplay event so a lot of the game pressure was not there yet the pair of us were competing on a sociable level. On the scores I would have been defeated with a score of -2 on the 18th hole (one down after the 17th). The previous week I was in the same group as the champion as well and the result was the same. I am 4-5 strokes higher in handicap yet closer than last season by 2 strokes when losing on the thirty second of the thirty six holes in the final.

This may seem to some a little silly to have put this effort into getting closer to being able to beat the club champion. To me it makes total sense, the benchmark is a person but the prize is a championship. A victory that I have the good fortune to be able to analyse what is required to be a legitimate competitor in. I am not going to make up the distance off the tee, the ability to hit the green from 140 to 160 metres is a must improve game aspect. As well as maintaing the current putting and chipping standards attained so far. My total physical game standard is still improving and is much better than last season both in ability and condition to be able to play comfortably. The mental aspect of my game is under review as well and has also been conditioned in the preparation of past weeks. Thankyou for your time and attention, “Hit ‘em straight all”

Weight keeps getting lower...

Diet Supplements available here make an offer... http://www.quicksales.com.au/buy/auction.aspx?itemid=15243678
18/8/12 Saturday. Very satisfied with the weigh off this morning.Following last weeks gain of .7 kilograms, today the total is 102.1 kg a loss of 1.10 kg.
The thought did cross my mind that possibly the diet supplements had ran their course of effectiveness and were beginning to falter as a reliable weight and health program. Instead the supplements have passed with the best possible result and that is a lower weight figure on the scales for me.

Again there was no specific dietary regime followed in the weeks eating. Coffee, toast and cheese for breakfast. Ham and salad sandwiches for lunch and grilled lamb chops with salad and vegetables with baked potato for dinner. On Friday and Thursday I had baked chicken Pie with salad for dinner. These were straight from the Bakery. What is a major plus is eating apples and carrot sticks or celery when getting the hankering for a snack while working. No crap foods like corn/potato chips, biscuits or cake etc.

With the particularly bad weather during the week I did less exercise with no 3-4km walks around the golf course on Thursday and Friday as I would usually do. With this and not following a particular diet program it would be possible to gain weight. Instead once again there has been a significant loss of more than a kilogram.

With approximately 2 weeks to go until the end of the second month of taking the supplements, it is still possible to reach my goal of 100kg. The benefits of carrying less weight 7kg at the minute is apparent in the lessening of other physical ailments. I had a Bowen Therapy yesterday and the usual groin and hamstring treatments were barely noticeable. They were almost perfect in their ability to operate without discomfort and pain.
Will head to Kingston and play 18 holes of golf today and also on the home track Sunday in the competition, first qualifying round for club championships.

Winning... It matters to me

16/8/12 Thursday. No practise is going to happen today, in the words of Noah (before the publisher edit), “It is p!ssing down” With some luck perhaps a bit of putting may happen later in the day if the rain goes to intermittent showers. Not the best situation for my preparation for the championship qualifier on Sunday but not a concern.

Compared to the 2011 season at this stage then I was running on empty as the season drew towards the championships. There were a few injury problems with the golfers elbow. In tandem with having pushed my body to it’s limit it was a limping finish to the season.

This year had much better staging to see the season out. Improved fitness and especially being 7 kg lighter at the minute following the weight reduction program of the past months and of course second season as a non smoker. Golf wise my form is peaking as opposed to waning, at the minute, aside from having broken 80 in recent competition the combined form and equipment improvement are all bonuses. None of this guarantees success in the play-offs but certainly supplies a better foundation to make the attempt from.

I dont care what the opinion of others is regarding the efforts I put into golf. While I have limited time available in recreation it is my choice to utilise it this way. Not surprised to know that there are some who do not think it is fair to be playing against golfers who practise a lot. Yes this is an undercurrent at the club. I do not think that fitter, younger golfers have an advantage over me though, if anything that drives me to be a better player. This effort hurts at times to but there is no other way to get into form.

Defeatism is not a tolerable situation with my mindset and if others have it, terrific! I will take the advantage and love the edge it gives me. In fact surreptitiously encouraging it with opponents is a fair tactic, if only I knew how to do it.

A Winning performance...

13/8/12 Monday. Once again the two competition round golfing weekend has delivered winning results in my game. Ever since I started travelling away to play on Saturdays, when playing the next day in the home track competition no matter how I perform away my golf is either a winning or top three place result. It is an odd experience as the away courses are very different, invariably the greens are faster and fairways feature taller trees. This seems to make me hit much straighter off the tee and fairways, and the slower greens do end with me having several putts stop well short of the hole. Yet rarely miss the second putt with an aggressive straight to the hole stroke.

Yesterday I scored 38 Stableford points, 19 on each nine played and a wipe on both nines as well. One was just poor golf the other totally bemusing. Hit a second shot saw the ball go into a tree and could not find it anywhere, lost ball penalty killed the scoring on that hole. Apart from those two blemishes the round was highlighted with greens in regulation or just missed and accurate drives off the tee. Putting was not a strength and whilst not too bad needs to be tuned up this week. The following two rounds are club championship qualifying events and I am not far off my best form at the minute. Played with the reigning club champion yesterday and while having the better score by one point his handicap of 8 is four less than my 12. Overall though it was an encouraging day for my aim to have another crack at the club title in 2012.

Coming runner up in 2011 has been a motivation for the improvement in my golfing this season. This covers several areas from equipment to physical condition. This time last season I was struggling to maintain the ability to be able to play well with my body having reached its limit of endurance. That is not the case in 2012, having dropped 6.5 kilograms in weight. Planned for practise to include a schedule that does not have me lacking in energy and capability when it came to the qualifying and championships. I play golf for fun and exercise yet the varied competition is an inspiration to play as much as I do.

Equipment wise there has been the change to a larger driver giving extra distance and not sacrificing the accuracy of the smaller club head size I have been using. The change to a mallet putter has also been an improvement which has increased my confidence when putting on the green. Finally and most recently has been the change to having a complete set of hybrids in the bag from #3 to PW. This most recent development was not expected to have such a significant influence as it has. Certainly not going to discount this and am a wholehearted convert to this style of club as best for my game.

This week will be one of practise as usual with more attention to putting improvement. No matter
what level of golf played getting the ball in the hole is always the most important part of your round.

Kingston SE good form shows itself...

12/8/12 Sunday. The good golf form which has been sitting back apart from occasional glimpses in rounds of late came out in full light during yesterdays round at Kingston SE. Not having to travel so far and playing in reasonable weather was an assisting factor also. Scoring 34 points and that was with a poor display of tee shots and 3x three putts. The All hybrid set again showed its benefits, GIR were above my usual standards 50% of greens hit and those missed were in the less than 5 metre zone. There were a few lapses and off the tee was the cause of most errors during the round. This was well covered in the main with the rest of my golfing. Putting also had a couple of lapses and not getting any birdies from the several attempts was frustrating.

Not altogether unsettled by the putts that did not drop. Having so many birdie attempts in itself was a major addition to my game. This was a result of the All Hybrid set and the ease of playing short clubs with accurate placement onto the greens. When I say the shorter clubs that is all from the #5 Hybrid to the Pitching Wedge. It seems at the minute that I have got the clubs in the bag which suit my game at the minute. The lightness and the large sweet spot of the clubs has reduced the errors. Especially the tendency to hit the ball fat or thin is noticeably missing. Previously it was a strain to maintain consistent ball striking due to physical constraints and the hybrids have largely negated that detrimental aspect.

Staying on the home track for Sundays stableford competition and not travelling to Millicent to play their Open. Part of the preparation for the start of Championship Qualifying which starts next weekend. Thankyou for your time and attention. "Hit 'em straight all"

Club Comeptition only this weekend...

11/8/12 Saturday. The past week was not the most golf inclusive for a while. Playing the Kingston Open on Sunday was a tale of two nines in what could be termed very challenging weather conditions. Strong winds passing rain squalls were the feature on the front nine and I scrambled to a 45 off the stick and that was a good effort on the day. After lunch and feeling confident the wheels fell off my game. It was a collap[se across the board, putting chipping fairway and tee shots all compounded to return a 52 off the stick for a gross 97 on the day. A Gross 90 would have delivered a second place finish in the A Grade on the day.

It was a frustrating end to the round and it came about through lack of concentration in the main and a little physical restriction. Overall my travelling performance in the various club opens in the region have not been successful in the competitions. Yet when returning to play in my home track competitions I have been in the winners list. This weekend is the Millicent Open on Sunday and I am going to give this trip a miss. The course is one that is a challenge to play and as much as it would be great fun to make the journey, it will be a home round for me and running the competition to cover for others who are going. Taking the trip to Kingston later this morning though to test out my current form, played nine holes yesterday with the Nextt all Hybrid set and the comfort with the new set is getting established.

The following is the blurb for the Nextt Hybrid set, “This Nextt Golf Axis Overdrive Hybrid Set features a unique hollow design that allows for a much larger and effective sweet spot. The refined weight system provides a lower centre of gravity that allows the player to get the ball airborne faster and with more accuracy. The ease of swinging the clubs and the large sweet spot is especially noticeable. The clubs feel so light and so far my ball striking from the six iron to the pitching wedge has been very good. The accuracy and distance are all benefiting from the hybrid design and while away this week I spent two sessions at a driving range giving the #2 to #5 hybrids a good workout. At the minute all is on track for the coming club championship qualifying rounds which commence on the 19th of August.

Week 8, A little weight gain...

Diet Supplements available here make an offer... http://www.quicksales.com.au/buy/auction.aspx?itemid=15243678
11/8/12 Saturday. The weigh in this morning registered the first weight gain since mid way through the first week of starting this experiment with the diet supplements. The total today is 103.2kg a gain of .7kg since last Saturday when the total was 102.5kg.
There is no concern on my part with this gain in weight. I was travelling for two days which is never good for dieting and more importantly on the past weekend I definitely let the eating run free
on Sunday. With 3 x Bacon and egg muffins and a steak sandwich plus beer during the Robe New Course breakfast and Kingston Open.
Dining out during the week and drinking wine added with not being able to get out and about to exercise to my usual level compounded the excess on Sunday. Interestingly it was also a bad week for my injury flare ups. It has been a while and that particularly limited my ability to be able to get out and just do a 2-3km walk a couple of times.
Still on target to get below 100 kg at the end of the diet supplement experiment.
I am not concerned that this is a portent that the diet supplements do not maintain the weight improvement. The onus is always on the person not the supplements. That said there is not a problem in my opinion wit the reasons for the gain as described being out of the ordinary. This weekend there will be no special dining events and the injury flare up has been treated and I am back where I can exercise freely again.

Thankyou for your time and attention, Geoff

Complete hybrid set delivers astounding results....

4/8/12 Saturday. Yesterday afternoon I played the easiest nines holes of golf ever in my experience. Not the best, the easiest, not the most fun, the easiest, that sums up the playability of the complete hybrid set that I now have in the bag. I scored a gross of 41 (5 over par) in the nine holes played with the hybrid set. My first plan when they arrived was to get on the range and hit balls with my six and eight irons and then compare the shots with the equivelent hybrids.

I had no idea what the hybrids would feel like or any expectation of what the effect would be when hitting balls with them. The day was a very hectic one and I had a 40 minute window in the early afternoon to get on the practise range without the regular set in the car. No matter I know my distances well enough to get an idea and lined up and started hitting balls. After twenty I was not Gobsmacked but totally confused, never has hitting a ball been so easy and the effect so good. Okay the promo for the clubs did say more distance and straighter shots many clubs do. That the ball way scooting 15-20 metres longer after impact was a surprise that had me reeling.

If you had practised like I have for almost four years, got to a twelve handicap and tried out most club types getting a five to ten metre increase with new sticks would be more believable. When ten shots with each stick go fifteen to twenty metres longer than usual and effortlessly how surprised would you be? Exactly and my first reaction was to want to get home grab the irons and return to the range. Instead I took my time finished the weeks tasks and headed out for nine holes. How convinced was I that these clubs were going in the bag? Not 100%, I played the nine holes with the factory plastic still on the club heads as the pictures show. I was hedging my bets and if they failed the test I was going to sell them in almost pristine condition.

When I got home after the nine holes as soon as the pictures were taken the plastic seal was off and the set is ready for action. I hit #3, #5, #6, #7, #8, #9 and PW during the round. The defining moment was a 140m shot to the green with a 7 iron that hit the green and finished on the back edge with a one and a half metre roll. Took the #8 Hybrid out for its first hit then, the ball dropped on the green and stopped three metres to the right of the pin. There was a bit of a breeze behind me, even so my usual easy eight iron is 125 metres not 140. There was another follow on effect from the hybrid use and that was the driver off the tee became o easy to accommodate to after playing each hole. The hybrids felt like the Cleveland Tour Launcher (440cc) driver, so light and the swing speed so much faster. As I got used to the hybrids stepping onto the tee and swinging the driver began to benefit from the similarity in feel.
Thankyou for your time and attention. :Hit ‘em straight all”

Still losing the fat....

Diet Supplements available here make an offer... http://www.quicksales.com.au/buy/auction.aspx?itemid=15243678
4/8/12 Saturday weigh in for the fifth week of taking the diet supplements. I have got a digital set of scales now, whilst the weight loss does register on the older scales the read out is difficult to get an accurate figure. The total weight on the scales this morning is 102.5 kg and a picture is included in the post. A bit of a surprise as I did not feel as though I had exercised enough during the week and was expecting a negligible figure to show for the week.

That puts the total weight loss in five weeks since beginning to to take the diet supplements at 6.5kg from 109kg. My meals during the week included several beers on Saturday night at a 50th birthday as well as canapes and hors d'oeuvres. During the rest of the week it was coffee with toast and cheese and twice fried (Olive oil) eggs and toast for breakfast, 2 x ham cheese sandwiches for lunches and Chicken Marsarla 3 times for dinner Steak chips and egg for dinner and Stir Fried curry noodles for dinner on Friday night as well as a couple of beers at the golf club.

After seeing this result my confidence at getting to less that 100 kg is strengthened. The reduction is gradual and there is no discomfort as a result of taking the diet supplements. I will set a target of 92 kilograms which is what I weighed in 2002 as the ultimate target. Seeing as I have not had any growth spurts since then that would be a very acceptable weight for me. This figure is 10.5 kilograms below my current weight so it may take two to three more months but that is certainly not a problem.

Not carrying the 6.5 kilograms gone so far on my frame is already a vast improvement in physical comfort. It is especially noticeable after a couple of days golfing that my energy and physical condition are still up for more.
